Data Domain

Purpose

The Data Domain assists in the development of consistent, efficient, and easily maintained database environments. The standards and policies serve to identify the design steps and constructs that surround database objects to ensure singularity, consistency, and flexibility within DHS-supported systems.

The standards and policies include, but are not limited to, logical and physical data modeling, naming conventions, database design guidelines that are independent of a particular relational database management system. Additionally, the document includes database-specific guidelines for Oracle, RDMS, and SQL Server regarding database architectures.
